FAQs

Do I need an appointment just to browse?

We do recommend pre-booking an appointment to avoid any disappointment. We will always do our best to look after a bride that pops in for a browse but when the shop is fully booked we prioritise by appointment only.

How many people should I bring with me?

We really do strongly recommend only bringing two or possibly up to three companions that you really value the opinion of.

What sizes do you stock for trying on?

Most of our dress samples are size 12-14 but we do have a few beautiful dress samples available in sizes 8-22 If you are after a particular size and style please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

How long do dresses take to arrive?

Dresses can vary from 4 weeks to arrive to 24weeks depending on the designer and the complexities involved. A number of the dresses are available ‘off the peg’ if you have time restrictions but 16-20 weeks is typical. “Don’t forget to allow time for adjustments in addition to the dress ordering time”.

When should I start looking?

12-8 months ahead of the wedding is a really relaxed time frame but don’t worry as we’ve been known to look after a bride just days before her big day!

What if my dress is late?

The delivery date is only estimated due to the nature of producing these highly detailed gowns and delays in production or customs are possible. We constantly track the progress of all the dresses, if we know a dress may be running a little slower than expected we will contact you to provisionally book in a dress fitting plan with the appointments a little closer together than may have been originally expected.

What undergarments do I need to wear with my dress?

This answer will vary depending on the style of the dress so have a chat with one of our seamstresses either when ordering or prior to your first fitting. It is essential that you bring your shoes and undergarments along with you to the first dress fitting. The underwear must support you in the correct places, enhance your natural shape and help the dress to sit smoothly against your body.

When should I order my accessories?

Some brides order at the same time as ordering the dress but if you are still deciding then a ‘prefit’ is the perfect opportunity to visit your dress, try out a hairstyle and choose your accessories before booking in with one of our seamstresses. Remember accessories can still take up to 6 weeks to arrive!

How many dress fittings will I need?

Approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding date you will have your first dress fitting, approximately 3-4 weeks later you will come back to try on your dress a second time. If further adjustments are required they will be pinned then a third appointment will be made for you to try on and collect your gown. Dresses are usually collected approximately a week before the wedding.

My wedding is abroad, how do I pack my dress?

We are more than happy to pack your dress for you, this can be confirmed with the seamstress during the dress fittings.
